Starter classifications
IMI notes that compression, ignition timing and the application are considered when a unit is selected or designed.

Use these figures as a catalog reference, not as a substitute for confirming the actual starter required for a specific engine or installation.
Re-indexable drive end
The IMI catalog describes a patented design that allows the drive-end housing to be re-indexed on applicable units to improve clearance.
Identify clearance needs
Check engine, header, chassis and bellhousing clearance before making an orientation change.
Re-index the drive plate
The catalog directs users to remove the metric Allen-head screws and adjust the drive plate position on applicable units.
Re-torque correctly
Reinstall and torque the fasteners correctly. If the required procedure or torque value is unclear, contact IMI before installation.
12V, 24V, CW and CCW.
The full catalog notes broad availability across 12-volt, 24-volt, clockwise and counter-clockwise starter configurations. The exact unit still depends on the engine, ring gear, mounting, rotation and application.
Need help?
For a fitment that is not listed or for a technical question about an existing Hi-Torque starter, contact IMI with the engine/application and any starter numbers you have.
